Karl Hess, Interim CEO
Karl is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Texas Health Aetna. Having interacted extensively with hundreds of digital health companies over the years, Karl has become known as a leading subject matter expert on the topics of successful digital health business models, commercialization, investment and technologies. Karl has helped design, develop and commercialize dozens of innovative products and services across the healthcare and life sciences industries, representing hundreds of millions of dollars in incremental revenues and more than $20B in value-unlocking transactions. Karl was formerly CEO of Kalico Partners, LLC, a technology-enabled provider and population health management organization (PHMO), and Chief Digital Health Officer of Collain Healthcare, a former subsidiary of LG CNS. DeWayne Wilson, CFO/COO
DeWayne has been with the Texas Health Aetna joint venture since its launch in 2017 as the Chief Financial Officer and more recently added the role of Chief Operating Officer. His duties include overall financial performance management as well leading efforts to build and manage the network of healthcare providers. DeWayne is an experienced strategic leader with more than twenty-seven years of healthcare management experience having led and managed finance, network, sales and marketing, and operations teams in a wide array of settings, from start-ups to Fortune 100 companies. Prior to his current role with Texas Health Aetna, he served as the Senior Finance Director for Managed Care and Value Based Reimbursement for Ascension Health as well as Director of Finance, Insurance Services division for Ascension’s Seton Healthcare Family ministry based in Austin, Texas. Dr. Del joined Texas Health Aetna (THA) in August of 2017 as Chief Medical Officer and in that capacity is responsible for the clinical and care management strategy of members in the health plan. Prior to joining Texas Health Aetna he was employed as a Senior Medical Director in the Accountable Care Solutions department of Aetna. In that role, he worked directly with clinical and administrative leadership of various provider networks and health systems to execute strategies for effective Population Health Management. Prior to joining Aetna, Dr. Doyle served as Chief Medical Information Officer of Naviscent Health System (formerly Central Georgia Health System) in Macon Georgia. He was responsible for all aspects of patient care delivery that involved the application of computer technology. During his tenure, house-wide Computerized Provider Order Entry (CPOE) and EMR documentation were implemented successfully and migration toward system integration was started. Christina Rassi, Market Head of Sales and Service
Christina is the Market Head of Sales and Services in Dallas, TX. Christina joined Aetna in 2007 and has held various roles across the Enterprise spanning both Middle Market and National Accounts. In her role, she is responsible for building and cultivating relationships with brokers, consultants, and alternate distribution channels locally and across the country. This reach has allowed her valuable insight into the overall challenges facing employers under ACA that include workforce retention and employment, affordability and access. Prior to joining Aetna, she served as Voluntary National Practice Leader in the Texas market with a consulting firm. While in this role, she was responsible for the growth and development, as well as, helping clients identify gaps in coverage and providing necessary tools to educate employees. Lisa has more than 27 years of experience in the health care industry and is a proven leader in managing internal and external customer relationships. She works as a Director of Account Management at Aetna. As a Director of Account Management, Lisa is charged with leading her team to retain existing business by planning, negotiating, implementing strategic plans for current Middle Market Account Clients. Marlen Mancias, Director, Small Group Sales
Marlen Mancias is the Territory Director for Small Group Sales. She manages the South Central Region team, which includes Texas and Oklahoma. She was instrumental in launching the Small Group Level Funded product-Aetna Funding Advantage. To date, her team has successfully continued to appear on the leaderboard for Small Group Sales and Retention. Marlen began her career at Aetna in May of 2014, as a Broker Relationship Manager for the San Antonio and Austin, TX markets.
